EKA – Future Leaders Get Together Conference – a step towards leadership and inclusion
During the conference organized by English Kids Academy, “Future Leaders Get Together”, young deaf people passionate about leadership, personal development and education had the opportunity to participate in an inspirational event designed to support them in their professional and personal development.
Main topics covered
The event focused on three key topics:
- Failure as a learning opportunity – an inevitable element in any development process.
- Personal development – how we can become the best version of ourselves
- The importance of values in education – the foundation of a successful career and a balanced society.

A trilingual format and an inclusive event
The conference was held in Romanian and English, with a particular focus on accessibility for deaf people. Interpretation into Romanian Sign Language (RSL) was provided by Monica Cătuțoiu and Andreea Darie (interpreters of our foundation), allowing about 30 young deaf people to be fully involved in the discussions.
An example of good practice in accessibility
The Future Leaders Get Together conference is a model of inclusion, demonstrating that everyone, regardless of ability, should have access to education and professional development. This event has set an important precedent for organizing accessible and inclusive conferences in the future. The CODA Foundation’s Charm of Silence initiative was received with enthusiasm and openness by the organizers.
Leadership also means accessibility! This is the direction in which we must move towards a fairer and more open future for all.
